Mood Music LV

The weather's been so cold and gray and rainy recently, and it's been making me miserable. So I thought I'd listen to some music written to accompany some gray rainy misery.

So...clearly March got away from me. I've been in the process of moving for the past three weeks, so posting sort of necessarily fell by the wayside. So I've still got whatever backlog of posts that's been lingering for a while, with old book and movie entries still in a state of half-written flux. There's also miscellaneous odds and ends from the intervening weeks that I'd like to write about if I find the time - season and series finales and whatnot. Working to get back on the ball! (Once I get past this gray-weather-induced ennui!)

Happy Birthday?

It's the one-year anniversary of what is far and away my most popular post - as much as I wish it was some piece of writing that I really like, it's just a conduit to an SNL clip I enjoyed back when it aired. It's consistently appeared in the top pageviews (and occasionally topped the front page of the blog - kind of depressing) since I started monitoring visitors. The quote in the title seems to attract a lot of visitors using search engines, and I go back and forth on whether or not to change it; on the one hand, that's what I wanted to title the post way back when and why should I have to change it? On the other, I'd kind of like it to just float along as one post among the others, not receiving undue attention for something that really has nothing to do with me - I'm really hoping Galifianakis doesn't revisit the sketch when he hosts this weekend and stir the whole thing up again. What's a project like this for, after all, if you can't be as self-involved as you want to be?
